My latest Models Prefer purchases from Priceline

The postie delivered me my Models Prefer purchases from Priceline today. I have been eagerly awaiting these and I was not disappointed!.
I became aware of these items after seeing a review on another blog. I do love MP make-up but have not seen these in store (my local Priceline). Eager to purchase them I went online to see if there were any left - there were (yay!).

Sweet Shadows
27.8 g net
$15.00 each

This gorgeous tin contains 12 powder eye shadows - all neutral colours (which I love), a eye shadow primer (10 ml) and a dual-ended volumising mascara and brow gel. For $15 this is a great buy and would make an excellent gift.
I can't wait to try these out. The added advantage (for me) is the lovely tin, which I am sure I will put to good use when the make-up is all used.

Sweet Kisses
$25.00 each

This tin has two layers. The bottom layer comprises of Eye shadow Primer (10 ml), a due eye shadow brush, Dual ended volumising mascara and brow gel, two blushes (Peach Parfait and Marshmallow) and two brozers (Cinnamon Spice and Macaron).

See photo on right for colours.

The top layer of the tin is comprised of 16 eye shadows.
This collection of eye shadows include neutrals plus pinks, green, blue and purple.  I think this is a great selection - able to suit most tastes and colouring.

Being larger than the other tin (and with more contents) this product is more expensive. However at $25 I believe it is a great buy and would also be great as a gift.

Thinking of Christmas I purchased two of each tin and I am sure my daughter will love to find these in her stocking!.

I also ordered 2 of the Daily Spa Escape Fragrance Body Scrubs (200 ml). Unfortunately a couple of days after purchasing them I received an email saying I was getting a refund as they could not supply these two items - bummer (it was buy one get one 25% off).

I found this a bit frustrating as I purchased these in good in good faith - maybe an 'I'm sorry for disappointing you gift' may have been appropriate here especially as this is the second order this has happened to me with Priceline. If it is out of stock there needs to be an 'out of stock' sign.

Anyways my moan is over and I must say I really love these tins and think they would be suitable for young (or older) as the colours are well selected for a large range of tastes. I look forward to testing these out in the upcoming days.

Current empties - November 2013

This is my first attempt at this - I have seen some fabulous blogs about 'current empties' and thought 'mmmm this is great, I just may give it a go myself'...... so I did!

Olay
Wet Cleansing Cloths
30 Textured Cloths

The label states that theses cloths remove dirt and make-up from around your eyes, face and neck and are fragrance and alcohol free.
I really like these cloths. I find them to be of a reasonable size and 'wet' enough to do the job without leaving my face feeling wet or sticky. I like that I can use them around my eyes without any stinging. As the cloths are textured my face feels refreshed after use and with 30 in the packet I think they are of a great quantity.

Would I buy again? Already restocked my cupboard!

 Wotnot
Natural Organic Facial Wipes
25 Wipes

These wipes are touted as 'Naturally soft and luxurious'. They are Australian certified organic aloe vera, rosehip and sweet almond oils gently remove impurities, make up even water-proof mascara. Free from harsh drying chemicals, and are suitable for sensitive skin.
Apparently this product won a bronze medal in the 2010 Organic Expo & Green Show Awards - Best Beauty Product.
I am loving that these wipes are 100% biodegradable, certified organic ingredients  not tested on animals and Australian owned. (just a shame they are made in China!).
I received these in one of my beauty boxes - having never tried them before I was pleasantly surprised how wonderful they felt to use. My skin felt fresh and clean after use.

Would I buy again? Have not purchased any yet, but definitely on my shopping list.

 Models Prefer
MATTE Me
Pore minimising Cleansing Wipes with MP aquaFLEX
3 in 1 Paraben free with purified water
25 Wipes

The packaging states that these wipes deeply cleanse and remove dirt, oil and make-up from the face and eyes. Then the blurb goes on to say The innovative MP aquaFLEX system restores the skin's natural aquaporins that regulate  hydration levels and promote collagen synthesis for maximum skin moisture and a youthful complexion
Say what?? too many big words, are they trying to over-sell this product?
I must say I was very disappointed with these wipes. They feel very dry and 'dragged' across my skin. My skin did not feel clean nor fresh after using them and I nearly threw them out, but decided to persist in the hope they improved, well they didn't.
I normally love MP products and it was the 'MATTE Me' which drew me in. Having very oily skin I am always on the look out for product which assist in keeping my oil levels down. But sadly it was not the case here. Luckily I only paid half price for this item (Priceline sale).

Would I buy again? Sorry, but No!

 L'Oreal
ELIVE
Arginine Resist x 3
Shampoo & Conditioner
Fragile, thinning hair
250 ml each

This Anti fall shampoo and conditioner supposedly Nourishes the root, strengthens the hair fibre and hair grows more resistant.
I found this set to have quite a pleasant fruity fragrance and my hair definitely felt softer after use. I don't have fragile or thinning hair, but with regular colouring (and the fact I love to try new products) I thought I would give this shampoo and conditioner a try and I was happy with the results.
I found the conditioner to be very thick - therefore I did not use it as quickly as the shampoo (in fact there is still about a third of the bottle left).

Would I buy again? my daughter liked it so much she has already purchased more.

 Avon
Naturals Body Moisturising Shower Gel
Red Rose & Peach
200ml

I bought this on special for about $2.50 a quite while back and it has been sitting in the back of my cupboard for a while now. With summer coming I wanted something light and fresh. I love roses, so if it contains them I tend to buy it!.
I loved it - the gel had a delicious rose and peach scent to it. It lathered up beautifully and made me feel fresh and invigorated (to take on the new day!)
I really like the Avon shower gels. They are inexpensive (and when they are on special I tend to stock up on various varieties). I love their yummy range of flavours - from roses to apples and grapefruits and mandarins. They are great as extras to pop in with a gift and I always have to fight my daughter for them.

Would I buy again? Waiting on the next special (but I think there may be an extra one lurking in the back of my cupboard somewhere!)

Goldwell
Dual Senses
Ultra Volume
Gel-Shampoo
100ml

This sample was included in one of my beauty boxes (which arrive each month). Never having tried Goldwell before I instantly fell in love with it. Although there was no conditioner included I still found the end results were fabulous - my hair felt silky smooth and so light. I even got compliments from work colleagues about how great my hair looked. I wear my hair shoulder-length and with layering it tends to have a curl in it. With this shampoo the curl was enhanced and my hair was so much more manageable (I have quite thin hair, but lots of it so it tends to 'go every where')
It did give Volume and hair full of body to my hair.

Would I buy again? I went straight out and bought the shampoo, conditioner and mask (I managed to get it in a set from Hair Warehouse for $30.00 - also included a comb, voucher and hair dryer - bargain!)

Bomb Cosmetics
Shower Soap
Tangerine Dream
140 g

The blurb on the packaging states that this product is an Exfoliating, massaging sponge drenched in soap with pure essential oils.
In actual fact it is more than that - it's my miracle product of the moment. Oh how glorious is this soap!? I have never seen a product like this before - it looks like a sponge with tentacles which is infused with the most gorgeous smelling soap (in this case tangerine). Not only does it clean my skin, but it also massages it and makes me feel alive and ready to take on the day.
I bought this item back in August (with my second Get Drenched order) and with daily use only finished it a few weeks ago - so it lasted me over 2 months! WOW!

Would I buy again? Will be putting in another order soon (bit of a moratorium on spending at present)

Swisspers Naturals
25 Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes
Cucumber

Oops, where did the individual photo of this one go? sorry!
The packet states that this product is alcohol free and suitable for all ski types and removes make-up and waterproof mascara.
I was not too keen on the smell - not sure what it was but it smelt a bit bitter' and 'plasticy' to me. Despite this the wipes did the job and were nice and moist without being too wet.

Would I buy again? Probably not as the smell turned me off and I have other preferable brands.
